Where the brush goes
The pen meters a thin coat of serum onto the nail plate. Work it over the nail, under the free edge at the tip and around the cuticle line, then stop. The nail is the whole target; the skin around it does not need any.
- Nail, not skin
- Keep the bristles on the nail plate. If a little lands on skin, wipe it off with a tissue. Sealing the free edge and the cuticle line matters more than covering the middle twice.
- Black by design
- The serum is jet black from organic black castor seed oil and coconut-shell activated charcoal, a functional carrier in the formula. A faint matte tint on the nail after a pass is normal and settles in as it absorbs overnight. It is not a stain and not a defect.
- One pass, once a day
- Clean, dry nail, ideally right before bed. A thin layer is the dose; a thick one just sits on top. Socks help it stay where you put it. Then let the nail grow.
The nail is a difficult surface to reach
The nail plate is dense, layered keratin with no blood supply. Anything applied to the outside of it has to work its way through that structure, which is why so much of nail care is really a delivery problem rather than an ingredient problem. It is the reason the applicator is a sealed brush-tip pen rather than a dropper or a cream.
Sporestrike addresses that three ways: the enzyme complex itself, an activated charcoal carrier that holds it in place, and an airless applicator that keeps it stable between uses.
What the enzyme complex is
Two enzymes do the work: chitinases and beta-glucosidases. Both are ordinary industrial enzymes. You already own several — they are what makes enzymatic laundry detergent and contact lens cleaner work.
Ours are derived from natural enzymatic sources and purified into a complex. Because they are proteins rather than synthesised chemicals, they need a carrier to hold them in place and an airless seal to keep them stable. Three deliberate design decisions
The activated carbon carrier
Coconut-shell activated charcoal is why the serum is black, but it is not there for color. It is a porous carrier that regulates the surface conditions the enzymes need and holds them where they are placed.

Enzymes degrade on contact with air. The airless applicator keeps the last dose as stable as the first, and places it precisely.

- Clean and dry. Right after a shower or wash, pat the nail fully dry. Best before sleep.
- Brush it on. A thin layer over the nail bed, under the free edge and around the cuticle. Do not rinse; let it absorb overnight. Socks help it stay put.
- Repeat daily. Nails grow slowly, so consistency over months is what matters.
One pen holds 4 mL, a 60 day supply at one application a day, so roughly two months. A toenail takes far longer than that to grow out, which is why the 3-pack exists: three pens run 180 days, about six months, at the same one pass a day.
