A different mechanism entirely
Conventional antifungals are chemistry: they poison the fungus's ability to build its cell membrane from the outside. Sporestrike takes the opposite approach — it borrows a mechanism that fungi evolved to use against each other.
Certain cultivated fungi are mycoparasites. They secrete chitinases and beta-glucosidases — enzymes that break down the cell walls of other fungi — as a competitive strategy. That behaviour is well documented in the biocontrol literature, and in 2004 it was studied specifically against Trichophyton rubrum and published in Mycopathologia.
